The famed TV producer and “The New Year’s Rockin’ Eve from New York” host died in St. John’s Hospital in Los Angeles, California of a massive heart attack after undergoing a routine outpatient procedure on April 18, 2012 at age 82. His health started to decline after he suffered a massive stroke in 2004 which also impacted his speech. He also suffered from Type 2 diabetes.

His first major television breakthrough was in 1956 when he hosted “Bob Horn’s Bandstand” which he later named as the “American Bandstand”. He continued to host the show until 1989 where he promoted such artists like Jackson Five, Madonna and many others.

Who could forget his countdown to “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” which he created in 1972 and broadcast around the world from New York City. Since his debilitating stroke, Ryan Seacrest took over in 2006. Since that time he attended the show sporadically and once admitted his speech difficulty. His final appearance in the event was in 2011.

Dick Clark also hosted the “Miss USA Pageant“ from 1989 to 1993. He also hosted many other TV game shows including the “Pyramid”, “Scattergories” and “The Challengers”.

The Five time Emmy winner was married three times and had three children from two marriages.

Do you remember the days that we carried a bulky Sony Walkman listening to the music? It was 1979 when the Walkman was created. It was hip to carry one around. Sony thrived on success of its electronics. In 1997 music and electronics defined what Sony is. That was then. In 2011 Sony’s income form music is far less than one fifth of the companywide revenue. Today most of us carry an iPod and listen to much more delicate sweet sounds than those days. What is going on with Sony?

It appears that they are late to the game. Sony has been trying to adept to the internet era for over decade.

Its innovation lags behind most of the other industry leaders. Sony was the symbol of quality. It was stylish at the time. However, they couldn’t continue to charge the price for quality and style when others were producing less expensive yet quality products.

Apple introduced iPod in 2001 and iTunes Music Store in 2003. Even though Sony worked with other developers at the time they were late to execute and Apple began to capitalize the music industry. People say that compartmentalization of Sony lead to its demise in music industry prominence.

The first thing to consider when you want to get your music on television or film is the theme of the song. The theme should be that which can fit the needs of many people, for example about love or any other very much popular thing among people, like trying to address an issue that is a manace in society, or delivering information to fill some gap in society.

The second thing is to do the music in a different way as other people do it. It can be the same lyrics of a common song, but if it is done in a different and creative way, then be sure that it will attract attention, to be captured by the media (television), and even the larger society. Here you will also be required to make the voices and the instruments different from the normal as done by many musicians, but should remember that originality should be considered, because music is an art, where it gains taste depending on how it is done.

Third, you have to consider the type of audience that you are addressing. This is very important, because you have to know who actually watches television most, and what they need. This means, as noted earlier, the music has to be relevant to whoever people you need to reach.
though not very important, you should aslo sing with other reknown singers so as to gain a base. It may be difficult to reach a reknown musician, but should keep on trying, because, everyone, starts somewhere, and ultimately will reach somewhere, where he/she wants to reach if only determined. you should also accept criticism, and accept correction and make the required ammendmenets to the singing. For your music to be loved, you have to love it first and believe in yourself.

Isn’t technology just the coolest thing? We have come so far. In the last 20 years we have evolved from cassettes and 8-tracks to completely digitized music that can be played out of any device with an internet connection, There is a near infinite number of online radio stations available for our listening pleasure at any time we want.

No more giant boom boxes or bulky cd players. Never thought I would see the day that the radio itself would be radio free. What was only possible with a device as large as a small dog 15 years ago is now child’s play for our cell phones that fit into our pockets without the slightest recognition.

We live in a time where the individual has complete musical freedom. Our tastes can be as wide as the North American continent, or as narrow as the eerie canal, and still have enough music to listen to that we would never have to hear the same song twice over the course of our entire lives. Want a station that has polka and pop hits? You better believe it’s out there. Want to listen to every kind of genre known to man except country music? You can do that and it is absolutely wonderful. Music is no longer just a leisurely indulgence. It is no engrained into our personalities. Any individual’s music taste is as unique as their very self. Next time you find yourself listening to internet radio, take a moment to appreciate how far we have come.

If you are a huge fan of talk radio, specifically talk shows, then don’t feel like you have been left out, because you haven’t been! There is literally an internet radio genre for everyone, so don’t fret, because we have your interests at heart too! There is everything you could ever think of as far a radio station genres online, and there are so many stations for each genre that a person could take hours and probably still not be able to go through all of the stations and see the names and call signs.

There are things like Top 40 hits of multiple genres or even of specific genres that are stations of their own. There are stations with top hits in each genre and some that are top hits in all of the genres, or just top hits in popular culture of today. If you wanted to find something that you could share with your friends, something like a top hits list would have something for everyone on it, and they are playing over and over again all day, so no one is ever unhappy with the choice of radio station. You could also choose a radio station that plays different genres of music together, such a popular country and hip hop or 80s rock and today’s rock, so that everyone, of every generation, is happy on the car ride. Because if they are happy, then you are happy, and it makes for a less eventful and more enjoyable trip for everyone!

Controversial singer Lady Gaga has released a surprise holiday album just in time for thanksgiving. As can be expected from the singer she has created her own version of the classic Christmas song White Christmas by Bing Crosby.

The song has her own additions to it which includes a verse “’I’m dreaming of a white snow man, with a carrot nose and charcoal eyes.’Oh and when he cries, I’m gonna tell him it’s ok, because Santa’s on his sleigh, and he’s on his way.’
She later said about the addition to the song “As you can tell I’m very outgoing, I’ve decided that this song is too short, it’s such a beautiful Christmas song but it’s only one verse, so I added one extra one.’

The singer whose real name is Stefani Germanotta rose to fame after the release of her debut album “The Fame” in 2008 and her second album “Born This Way” topped many international charts and included hit singles such as Born This Way, Judas and The Edge of Glory.

Internet radio stations are stations where you can listen to music yet you are able to customize it so you have more of a chance to hear what it is that you want to hear. However, even though you can choose the specific artists it should be known that other artists are going to play on the stations as well. Currently, one of the more popular internet radio options is Pandora. This is because they allow you to listen to a certain amount of hours free each month. However, there are other radio stations available online that will not charge you as well but things will work a little differently from Pandora.

It doesn’t matter which station you choose to listen to because you will have the options of gospel music and others where you can listen to your favorite artists such as CeCe Williams and Kirk Franklin. Then of course there is always contemporary Christian music available such as songs by Mary Mary and others.

Once you decide to start listening to the radio online you will find that you have a little bit more power than what you would have as opposed to if you were to listen to music on a regular radio. You will be able to at least have a better chance of hearing your favorite songs as to where on the radio there will just be anything played. For example, one day they may have an old school day and you want to hear some new school. So, what do you do? Yep, that’s right listen to the radio online.
