A new way to music concerts

Thanks to Grateful Dead co-lead vocalist, guitarist, and the founding member Bob Weir and Yahoo now you can watch and listen to streaming musical performances over the internet. The San Raphael, California based Tamalpais Research Institute (TRI) which own by Weir share revenue with Yahoo who runs ads in the videos. Weir is also responsible for creating Furthur (Furthur Experiments at TRI).

Instead of going to a musical event, now you can bring the show to your home and enjoy it live. Tamalpais has built a state-of-the-art performing studio for broadcasting live HD videos and streaming audios to the internet. Participants can enjoy the show at their home or anywhere internet is available.

On June 7, 2011, Furthur performed live at TRI which was broadcast over the internet with HD video and stereo sound. The pay-per-view event cost only $19.95 for those who registered early to watch. The two-and-half-hours show contained 13 songs. Bob Weir is expecting to host other musicians in the future. Weir was part of RatDog and expects to get members of the group those who are still alive to perform at TRI. Currently TRI’s 11,500 sq. ft. building has two studios, two audio mixing rooms, one video editing room and five ISO rooms.
