Adele to sing in next James Bond movie, Skyfall

The closely guarded secret of British singer Adele singing the theme song of the next James Bond movie, Skyfall was big news for months. Song is titled “Let the Sky Fall”. Some parts of the song leaked onto the Internet before it was officially released on Adele’s Internet site. Adele follows Carly Simon (The Spy Who Loved Me, 1977), Shirley Bassey (Goldfinger, 1964; Diamonds Are Forever, 1971; and Moonraker, 1979), Nancy Sinatra (You Only Live Twice, 1967), Lulu (The Man With The Golden Gun, 1974), Tina Turner (GoldenEye, 1995), Sheena Easton (For Your Eyes Only, 1981), Sheryl Crow (Tomorrow Never Dies, 1997), Madonna (Die Another Day, 2002), Alicia Keys (with Jack White in Quantum of Solace, 2008) and Rita Coolidge (Octopussy, 1983) who performed the theme song before in previous James Bond movies. All previous 12 James Bond theme songs were performed by female artists except Quantum of Solace. However, there are some best Bond songs by male artists such as Paul McCartney, who performed “Live and Let Die”. “Let the Sky Fall” is written by Adele and Paul Epworth.

Skyfall, Daniel Crag’s third Bond adventure is due on theaters in U.K. at the end of October and the U.S. on November 9, 2012.
