Bruno Mars to perform at the XLVIII Super Bowl

The National Football League (NFL) has chosen Grammy Award winning pop artist Bruno Mars to perform at the XLVIII Super Bowl Pepsi half-time show at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on February 2, 2014. This will be the first time performing at a Super Bowl for the 28-year old pop icon. He comes from a talented musical family in Hawaii. Mars himself is an accomplished musician that plays guitar, sings and dance. The expected cold weather at the game will be a challenge for the singer and performer.

Bruno Mars experienced a rating hike after his performance at the Saturday Night Live and the performance at the Super Bowl will definitely a boost to his music career. More than 110.5 million people in the U.S. alone watched last year’s Super Bowl. Previous performers include last year’s performance by Beyoncé, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, The Who, E Street Band and Prince. Bruno Mars already has two platinum albums. He has been named the Billboard’s 2013 Artist of the Year. His hit singles include Just the Way You Are (which earned him a Grammy), Doo-Wops & Hooligans, and Unorthodox Jukebox (won four Grammy Awards).
