Music industry biggest night, the Grammy Awards

The music industry’s biggest night, 55th annual Grammy Awards will be held on February 10, 2013 at the Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles, California.  The show will broadcast on CBS and LL Cool J hosts this year’s show for the second time.  Grammy Award is an annual show held by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Science that started in 1959 that recognizes music talent of musicians and contributions to the music industry.  Show is dubbed as the music’s biggest night.

The 2013 Grammy Awards include 81 awards and prior to the show on February 8, 2013 Bruce Springsteen will be recognized with the MusiCares Person of the Year award during a separate gala.  There will be many performances by prominent artists during the award show.  It is the equivalent of Emmy Awards for television, Tony Awards for stage performances and Academy Awards for motion pictures.  The biggest awards to watch include Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist.  Children from the Newtown, Connecticut elementary school will sing Over the Rainbow at the show.  Adele dominated last year’s show; however, there are no clear winner mentioned by many Grammy followers this time.
